So...anyone who knows me knows how important it is for me to write my thoughts out...my feelings..whatever is on my heart...These poems I post are at least three years old and I have kept in my poetry journal for some time...

For the first time today....I share them with others...

The Seemingly Perfect Girl for You

Gorgeous, beautiful, funny, crazy, I love her a lot

She is definitely one of the best friends I've got

But guys know that she's awesome, she's just so great

She is the kind of girl your mom would love, the girl you'd love to date

There's so many guys that don't see that, I've got one in mind

He needs to realize he loves her, and she's the one that he's trying to find

But search no more seriously, she's right in front of you

He sends her mixed messages and gestures, what is he trying to do?

Wake up,(insert name), tell her that you love her with all your heart

And hold her in your arms, and make sure you never end up apart

Kiss her, cuddle with her, lay with her on the bed

Let her know that thoughts of her run through your head

Tell her you need her always and forever in your life

Tell her that soemday you want her to be your wife

Think about the kids you'd have, blonde hair, blue eyes

And just think of the love you'd share, the kind of love that never dies

I know someday you'll realize everything I've said was true

You'll tell yourself, her, everyone, that you love her, something I always knew

Loud, outgoing, devoted, caring, one of the best people I've met

Face it(insert name), you and I both know she's somebody you could never forget.

Perfect Timing

What do you do when see two people together?

Two people that should be promised to each other forever

But they're not together, it doesn't make sense

They deserve everything, the happiness, the house, the white picket fence

But most importantly true love, why not these two

Does this guy have his mind messed up, does he not have a clue

But the girl, she has great hope, they will be together in the end

They will get married, they will have kids, she will be his best friend

But right now, everything is against them, it makes me so mad

And the thought of them not being together makes me sad

Only God holds the future for them in His hands

I believe in those two, they will have great plans

But for now, she will be there for him every step of the way

He has a way with words, he knows what to say

Let me ask again, why aren't dating

I think about all the memories they could be creating

They have shared special moments, even a first kiss

And that is something she would definitely miss

I will hold high hope and have great faith

Because I've heard good things come to those who wait.

You're just You

I dont know what to do or what to say

I don't know how you make me feel this way

You're one of the most positive things to come along

With you by my side, nothing could go wrong

You're just you with everything you say do

I remember every single word, you're just you

I remember every look you've ever given me

You're just you, and with you, I'm as happy as can be

You make me smile, make me laugh, make me cry

You're just you, one of a kind, a decent guy

You're special to me, so genuine and so true

I thank God each and every day that you're just you

Lights shine bright

I am excited

City life at night

Friends scattered all around

I am happy

I will smile, not frown

Jokes, laughter, chit-chat

I am reminded of

Theater seats where we sat

Happy thoughts, favorite places

I am thankful for

Familar faces

Hugs, hand shakes, a high-five

Oh the memories

I feel so alive

God is great, God is Good

He takes care of me

Like I knew He would

Please take the hurt, take the pain

I want to feel You

So another entry...Look at me go crazy with Xanga. im not quite sure who is even reading this, if anyone...

I just started reading this book called "Proverbs for Life For Women" Everyday wisdom for everyday living. (Courteous of Greta, thank you!) I found some super encouraging stuff....as far as quotes I really liked...I wanted to share them...maybe some of these can totally be applied to your life!:)

Hello all....It's been a long time since I posted....last semester actually. In case you didn't notice, since i have returned back to xanga, I have changed my layout and picture. Now you can read my posts more clearly because I know some in the past were hard to read. For anyone who does still get on xanga, how was your school year overall and how is your summer going so far?....leave me a comment or two...i would love to hear from you all!

So God is good. Can I get an Amen?:) I have been in the Word pretty much everyday since the summer started and God's been revealing a lot to me. First things first, I've been tackling Proverbs,Psalms, and Song of Songs.....in this particularly entry, I want to talk about Proverbs and Song of Songs....

Proverbs, verses that are short and sweet to the point but can be applied to everyday life...as can anything in the bible:)

So i read over and over again over Proverbs 31,"A Wife of  a Noble Character" and immediately I thought, I desire to be this woman! These verses just stuck out at me a lot..

"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. "

Whoa, how cool is that? Ladies, if you aren't married, look at what is down the road for you when that does happen. Ever have days that you feel unpretty? Not once Proverbs 31 does it mention a thing about her physical attractiveness...The attractiveness comes from her character. If you havent read this chapter, i suggest it! Here are some other verses I espiecially liked..."She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy..." "She is clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come." "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

Ah I love it. Song of Songs....never actually read it for the first time until a couple of days ago, and wow.  From this book on one hand, we can see love, marriage, etc all played out and on the other hand, we can see God's unconditional love for his people. 

"How beautiful you are my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves..."1:15

"I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste......His left arm is under my head and his right arm embraces me....."2:3

"DO not arouse or awaken love until it so desires..."2:7

"My lover spoke and said to me, Arise my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me."2:10

These verses really spoke to me...just with feelings I have

"All night long on my bed, I looked for the one my heart loves...I looked for him but did not find him. I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares, I will search for the one my heart loves, So I looked for him but did not find him...3:1-2

"Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away." 8:7

So im a hopeless romantic, I confess. God is good and for anyone who is single out there, He has a plan for our lives..every step of the way...including who he has planned for you. I just encourage everyone to pray on a regular basis for "the unseen" Pray for your future husband....even though you can't see him...Trust that the Lord has your best in mind. Then one day, we can all be writing a "Song of Songs"of our own:)

Wow I haven't updated in like a month....Well... the thing I feel compelled to talk about this morning is attachment. Is it good or bad? Did anyone ever have that best friend when they were kids, that whereever you were, they were...and the expression "attached at the hip" was born? I definately had my share of friends I did that with. Can you remember back to your elementary school friends....now try high schools....then we go to college....is there anyone you find yourself attached to and it's no longer a good thing? To have an attachment to someone, as defined in the dictionary says ..."a feeling that binds one to a person, thing, cause, ideal, or the like; devotion; regard." Have you ever trully found a friend or the relationship itself where you feel bound to that person?...I thought I had....I tossed and turned over this person...cried and cried...and this is when attachment has become a problem, it's become unhealthy....its gotten to the point where you almost depend on that person...You seek out that person for answers to your struggles...you seek them out to comfort you, to tell you the words "It's going to be okay....and "I'll always be here for you.... " a person that you are so blesssed to be around and excited to tell others about...a person you just thought that if you lost, your life wouldn't be the same. Then I am reminded that human beings, that we all are going to make mistakes...and were going to fail the people we care about...and we must remember that when someone fails us, we're probably going to fail someone too. we arent perfect. Now let's take this to a different level.....attachment not only says a feeling that binds one to another...but also devotion....All that stuff I said I said above....there is One we can look to.... "And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”-Isaiah 9:6

              When you're tossing and turning around in bed at night be reminded by this..."No matter what time of night you roll over in bed and wake up, you will catch God in the middle of a thought about you."

                  When you're crying and hurt, remember..."When our days are filled with crying, we can trust that God in time, will again bring laughter."

                 When you're ready to depend on someone, turn to Him and "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."-1 Peter 5:7

         When you want answers to your struggles or trials....take this into action.."Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. " Matthew 7:7-8

              When you want to be reminded of the words, "Ill ALWAYS be here...remember this..."Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."Deuteronomy 31:6 

                 I just want to remind everyone that your relationship with Christ never stops growing....it's a relationship like no other...Nothing can compare to it, I promise you that much. Don't let an attachment to a friend, a boy, a family member hinder your walk with the Lord....Also, remember how important prayer is...I once heard someone say..."Prayer is a conversation between two people who love each other...." God is LOVE. God is good.
